What is Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment?
Fractional CO2 is a revolutionary treatment, using a carbon dioxide laser to generate thousands of tiny holes in the surface of the skin. These remove the pigmentation and blemishes and tighten the skin removing lines and wrinkles.
What can be treated?
Fractional CO2 removes brown pigmentation and sun damage, it decreases red veins, tightens the skin and stimulates collagen production deep under the skin surface.
It can help:

- Irregular pigmentation
- Acne
- Acne scarring
- Surgical scars
What does Fractional CO2 involve?
After a careful medical history and assessment you will have some anaesthetic cream applied to your face for about 45 minutes.
Your eye will be covered with special metal shields to protect them. The doctor will then treat the desired areas with the laser. The laser will sting for a few second and then feel warm. Once all areas have been treated the doctor will apply a protective cream. You will then be allowed to cool the areas treated for about 30 minutes.
After treatment the areas treated will be red and depending on hoe deep a treatment you have have this may last from 24 hours to 7 days.
You will be given after care advice by the doctor.
How much is Fractional CO2?
This depends upon how deep a treatment you have and what areas are treated. Generally SmartXide is between £800and £2000
Some patients prefer to have one deep treatment and some prefer several more gentle treatments
